Things I have learnt in Term 1 and reflections on lessons.
In term 1 I have learnt how to treat learning science with an open attitude, use the scientific method to solve scientific problems, make use of science laboratories to conduct science experiments and many more. The lessons were most effective in allowing me to foster a positive attitude towards science which is the main objective for term 1, so in all there were absolutely no problems with the lessons. In fact the practical lessons done in school were much more exciting then the practicals lessons done in primary school because back then we were only experimenting on things such as the effects of carbon dioxide on lime water and most of the "cooler" experiments are done by the teacher. Whereas in secondary school, it is pure independent which is what helped me build up a strong liking for science as I realised it is much more than theory but also about experiencing. Still I hope that you would organise a monthly field trip for the class, I know it is asking a lot but if you were to allow only the top 4 boys of each class to attend a field trip, the rest would not get a chance to experience other aspects of science. I understand that these boys would have done exceptionally well to be able to attend the fielsd trip but i hope you would try to organise some field trips for the rest of the class too.
